Villa lose for the first time in three to make it sixteen wins, seven draws and fourteen defeats in thirty seven division one games so far this season.
Meanwhile, left back Jock Logan made his final appearance for Villa aged 26 before moving on to Glasgow Rangers in September 1912. Jock had made 157 appearances, scoring four goals for Villa since his debut in December 1905 winning the League title in 1909-10.
Also making their final appearance was forward Joe Walters aged 25 before moving to Oldham Athletic in June 1912. Walters had made 121 appearances for Villa over seven seasons and scored 41 goals winning the League title in 1909-10.
