Albert was born in Kings Norton, less than 9 miles from Villa Park, on 24th January 1891 and made his sole appearance for Villa at the age of 20 on the 23rd March 1912.
Albert was the 27th custodian of the Villa goal in League and Cup football, conceding twice in his single appearance.
Villa had signed Albert from Birmingham in August 1910 for a fee of £750 and after his single appearance he moved on to Barnsley in September 1912.
Albert played under the George Ramsay led Management Committee.
Albert passed away in Dowlais, Wales on 1st October 1976 aged 85.
