Reading put on an ultra-defensive performance at Villa Park to successfuly stymie Villa and equalise immediately after the restart with a rare foray into Villa territory.
Villa face Reading for the first time in competitive football, Reading become the 61st team that the Villa first team has played in League or Cup football.
Villa face non-league side Reading for the first time in their history and are held to a draw at home in the second round of the FA Cup.
