George Hunter
Player #205 for Aston Villa, George Charles Hunter, nicknamed Cocky, played as a midfielder for the club in the position then known as a half back.
George played for Villa between 1908-09 and 1911-12.
George was born in Peshawar, India, 4,979 miles from Villa Park, on 16th August 1886 and made his debut for the club at the age of 23 on the 12th September 1908.
Villa had signed George from Croydon Common.
Over his 5 seasons with Villa, George made 98 appearances for Villa, won the 1909-10 league title making 32 appearances and never finished lower than 7th whilst also finishing league runners up.
George played his final game for Villa on 20th March 1915 aged 26 after which he moved on to Oldham Athletic for a fee of £1,200.
George played under the George Ramsay led Management Committee.
George passed away in London in February 1934 aged just 48.
