Jock Logan

Player #183 for Aston Villa, James Lochhead Logan, known as Jock Logan and nicknamed White Head and Gentleman Jim played as a left back for the club.

Jock represented Villa between 1905-06 and 1911-12.

Jock was born in Barrhead, Renfrewshire, Scotland on 8th August 1885 and made his debut for the club as a 20 year old on the 23rd December 1905

Jock won the 1909-10 league title with Villa appearing on 16 occasions that season.

Jock had arrived at Villa and played as a half back, full back, centre half before settling at left back and was even made Villa captain following Howard Spencer’s retirement.

A scratch golfer, his brother Alec Logan (a forward) also played for Villa for a while during Jock’s period at Villa, and a younger brother played for Chelsea.

Jock made his final appearance for Villa on 13th April 1912 aged 26 having made 157 appearances.

Jock moved on to Glasgow Rangers.

Jock had played his entire Villa career under the George Ramsay led Management Committee.

Jock passed away in Worcester in 1958 aged 73.
