On This Day
Harry Hampton hits four goals and Clem Stephenson a brace as Villa record their biggest win of the season.
Villa win for the fourth time in five.
Villa make it nine wins, three draws and seven defeats in nineteen division one games.
Despite victory Villa fall back to 11th.
Midfielder George Hunter made his final appearance for Villa aged 26 before moving on to opposition side Oldham Athletic for a fee of £1,200 in January 1912. Hunter had made 98 appearances and scored once since his debut in September 1908 but in recent weeks had been suspended by the club and despite his undoubted talents was seen as a disruptive influence the directors felt they were better off without.
