Harry Hampton hit a hat-trick and Joe Bache scored another as each of Villa's goals stemmed from poor handling by the Blacburn 'keeper.

Villa took the lead early in the first half before being behind at the interval. In the second half Villa took the lead only for Blackburn to peg them back and needed a winner three minutes from time to clinch the victory.

Villa lose to Notts County for the first time in twelve meetings as they're defeated at Meadow Lane

Midfielder Arthur Moss makes his fifth and final appearances for Villa aged 24 before moving on to Bristol City in July 1912.

Winger Albert Ralphs makes his sole appearance aged 20 after moving from Whitchurch FC in November 1911. Ralphs moved on to Chester in June 1912.
