What they Said
"On resuming Bury again pressed, and gained corner after corner, the visitors' defence showing to great advantage."
BURY v. ASTON VILLA.
At Bury before 12,000 spectators. McLuckie again appeared in the home team. The Villa had their full strength. The first half was in favour of Bury, the Villa giving several chances, whilst the visitors were scarcely dangerous. Bury had the best of matters to the interval, which arrived without either side having scored.
On resuming Bury again pressed, and gained corner after corner, the visitors' defence showing to great advantage. Bury's efforts were at length rewarded, for Plant found the net from a corner 12 minutes off time. The home team kept up the pressure, and George was kept busy, but Sagar scored again minutes later. Result— Bury, 2; Aston Villa 0.
