Villa had signed Michael from Burton Swifts and he went on to appear 81 times over his 6 seasons with the club. Michael made 15 league appearances during Villa’s 1899-00 League title winning season.
Michael had to wait until the 1902-03 season to score his first and only goal for the club in the 2-1 home victory over Everton on 18th October 1902, nearly 3 years after his debut.
Michael made his final appearance came for Villa on 10th February 1906 after which he moved on to Plymouth Argyle in June 1906.
Michael played under the George Ramsay led Management Committee.
Michael passed away in Leicester on 4th February 1939 aged 63.
