Player #137 for Aston Villa, James Henry Garfield, known as Jim Garfield played as a winger for the club in the outside right position.
Jim represented Villa in 1899-00.
Jim was born in Wellingborough on 19 April 1874 and made his sole appearance for the club as a 25 year old on the 13th November 1899 in the 2-0 away win over Stoke City in which Jim scored the second goal.
Villa had signed Jim from Gravesend United before he moved on to Northampton Town. During his time with the Villa, Jim won the 1899-00 League title.
Jim played under the George Ramsay led Management Committee.
Jim passed away in March 1949 aged 74.
