Player #126 for Aston Villa, Thomas Bowman, known as Tommy Bowman played as a midfielder for the club.

Tommy played for Villa between 1897-98 and 1900-01.

Tommy was born in Tarbolton, Strathclyde on 26th October 1873 and made his debut for the club as a 24 year old on 27th November 1897.

Villa had signed Tommy from Blackpool as he went on to make a total of 115 appearances in his 3 seasons with the club..

During his time with Villa, Tommy won 4 major trophies: 2 League Championships in 1898-99 and 1899-00 as well as 2 Charity Shields.

Tommy was known as a strong, determined player and such was his quality that he kept Bert Sharp out of the first team reckoning to such an extent that Bert had to seek pastures new.

Tommy made his final appearance for Villa on 22nd April 1901 following which he moved on to Southampton.

Tommy played his entire Villa career under the George Ramsay led Management Committee.

Tommy passed away in Southampton on 27th August 1958 aged 84.
