Jimmy was born in Middlesbrough on 17th August 1875 and made his debut for the club as a 19 year old on the 27th November 1897.
Villa had signed Jimmy from Middlesbrough junior football with both his appearances coming in the league as Villa went in to finish 6th.
Jimmy scored against Preston North End in the 4-0 win at Villa Park on 5th February 1898.
That was to prove his last game for Villa, after which he was transferred to Nottingham Forest.
Jimmy had played under the George Ramsay led Management Committee.
Jimmy passed away in 1932 aged 54.
