Billy had signed Albert from Edinburgh Royal for £40 and made 1 appearance in each of Villa’s title winning seasons of 1898-99 & 1899-00.

Billy’s final appearance for Villa came on 7th October 1899 almost a complete year after his first, following which he returned to his native Scotland to play for Partick Thistle.

Billy played under the George Ramsay led Management Committee.

Billy passed away in Scotland in 1954 aged 80.
