Manchester City have a number of lucky escapes before taking the lead against the run of play following up with another strike depsite Villa having much of the play and by half time the game is as much as over as the scoreline highly flattered the fortunate hosts.
As a result, Villa follow up their first win in ten to lose for the seventh time in eleven whilst conceding fifty two and look destined for relegation.
Villa now have a single clean sheet in 24 games.
Midfielder Alex Massie makes his Villa debut aged 28 after joining from Hearts earlier this month for a fee of £6,000.
Full back Norman Young makes the last of his nine appearances before moving to Barnsley in July 1936.
