Archie played for Villa between 1932-33 and 1935-36 making 21 appearances, scoring 5 times.
Archie was born in Stapleford, Nottinghamshire on 28 June 1912 and made his debut appearance for Villa on the 10 December 1932 aged 20.
Villa had signed Archie from Loughborough in November 1932.
Archie made 8 league appearances in his debut season but missed the whole of 1933-34 before having his most productive season the following year, 1934-35, with 4 goals in 11 appearances.
Archie played his final game for Villa on 16 September 1935 aged 23 before moving on to Reading in July 1936.
Archie had played under the Billy Smith led Management Committee, Villaโs first manager proper, Jimmy McMullan.
Archie passed away in 1983 aged 71.
