Villa's poor start to the season continues as they lose for the third time in four games and now have five defeats in their previous six including 1934-35 that has seen Jimmy McMullan's side concede twenty two whilst scoring just five.

Meanwhile, forward Joe Beresford made the last of his 250 appearances for Villa aged 29 during which time he scored 73 goals before moving on to Burnley in October.
