  • Ronnie Dix scores a brace but Villa's poor start to the season continues as they lose for the third time in four games and now have five defeats in their previous six including 1934-35 that has seen Jimmy McMullan's side concede twenty two whilst scoring just five.

  • Villa are five behind at half time, shipping seven at home for the first time since the 1914-15 season.

  • Villa are now without a clean sheet in 10 games under Jimmy McMullan.

  • Forward Joe Beresford made the last of his 250 appearances for Villa aged 29 during which time he scored 73 goals before moving on to Burnley in October.
