Jimmy McLuckie
Player #359 for Aston Villa, James Sime McLuckie, known as Jimmy McLuckie, played as a midfielder for the club in the position then known as a left half.
Jimmy played for Villa in 1934-35 and 1935-36 making 15 appearances and scoring once.
Jimmy was born in Stonehouse, Lanarkshire on 2 April 1908 and made his debut appearance for Villa on the 15 December 1934 aged 26.
Villa had signed Jimmy from from Manchester City for a fee of £6,500 in December 1934 and his debut was his only appearance in his first season.
The following year, Jimmy made 14 appearances in what was to prove Villa’s first ever relegation.
Despite the significant fee outlay of the previous season Jimmy played his final game on 21 March 1936, aged 27, before moving on to Ipswich Town in June 1936.
Jimmy had played under Villa’s first manager proper, Jimmy McMullan.
Jimmy passed away on 1st November 1986 aged 78.
