Player #361 for Aston Villa, Thomas Percival Griffiths, known as Tom Griffiths, played as a midfielder for the club in the position then known as a half back.
Tom played for Villa in 1935-36 and 1936-37 making 68 appearances and scoring once.
Tom was born in Moss, Wrexham on 21 February 1906 and made his debut appearance for Villa on the 9 November 1935 aged 29.
Villa had signed Tom from Middlesbrough for a fee of ยฃ5,000 earlier in November 1935 and he went on to make 27 appearances in his only top flight season with Villa.
With 1935-36 ending in Villaโs first ever relegation, Tom lined up for Villa in the second division in 1936-37 making 39 appearances and scoring his only league goal for the club.
Tom played his last game for Villa on 26 April 1937 at the age of 31 and moved on to Wrexham as player coach before returning to Villa as a scout in the 1939-39 before WW2 interrupted league football.
Tom had played under managers Jimmy McMullan and Jimmy Hogan in his 2 seasons with Villa.
Tom passed away in Moss, Wrexham on 15th December 1981 aged 75.
