Villa extend their best run of the season to six games unbeaten with five wins to make it ten wins in the last twenty eight second tier games and an overall record of fourteen wins, twelve draws and eight defeats in thirty four division two matches.

Jimmy McMullan had recorded five wins, five draws and three defeats in his thirteen division two matches in charge and his successor Jimmy Hogan had now delivered nine wins, seven draws and five defeats in his twenty one game spell.

Meanwhile, midfielder George Pritty made his Villa debut aged 22 after moving from Newport County in May 1935.
