  • Villa lose four consecutive games for the first time this season and have now suffered the same fate in each of their last three campaigns under Jimmy McMullan and Jimmy Hogan having previously not lost four in a row since January 1928. 

  • As a result Villa make it twelve wins in the last thirty four second tier games and an overall record of sixteen wins, twelve draws and twelve defeats in forty division two matches. 

  • Winger Freddie Goss made his second and final appearance for Villa before moving on to Wrexham in September 1938.
