Meanwhile, full back George Cummings, winger Charlie Drinkwater and forward Jack Palethorpe made their Villa debuts aged 22, 21 and 25 after moving from Patrick Thistle, Walthamstow Avenue and Sheffield Wednesday earlier this month. Both Drinkwater and Palethorpe marked their debuts with goals.
