Bob Brocklebank
Player #336 for Aston Villa, Robert Edward Brocklebank, known as Bob Brocklebank, and nicknamed The Toff and Brock, played as a forward for the club.
Bob played for Villa between 1929-30 and 1935โ36 making 20 appearances and scoring twice.
Bob was born in Finchley on 23 May 1908 and made his debut appearance for Villa on the 5 February 1930 aged 21, his only appearance for Villa in his debut season. Indeed that would be his only appearance until the 1933-34 season.
Villa had signed Bob from Finchley AFC in May 1929 and it would take until the 1933-34 season before Bob made his second appearance, going on to make 3 appearances that season.
In the following season, 1934-35, Bob would make his most appearances - 11 - and scored two goals, his only goals for the club.
Bob played his final game for Villa on 28 December 1935 aged 27 before he moved on to Burnley in the following March.
Bob had played under the Billy Smith led Management Committee and Villaโs first manager proper, Jimmy McMullan.
Bob passed away in Brixham on 6th September 1981 aged 73.
