Villa fall to a sixth defeat in eight off the back of a run of just three losses in fifteen as they make it twelve wins, four draws and eleven defeats in their twenty seven division one games.
Meanwhile, goalkeeper Fred Biddlestone, 25, and forward Bob Brocklebank, 21, made their Villa debuts after joining from Walsall and Finchley AFC earlier this month and in May 1929 respectively.
Moving the other way was midfielder Norman Swales, 23, who made his eight and final appearance for Villa before moving on to Scarborough in May 1932.
Joe Beresford scores but Villa lose successive games and make it six defeat in their last eight, Wednesday, 5 February 1930.
