  • Villa fall to a sixth defeat in eight off the back of a run of just three losses in fifteen. 

  • Villa make it twelve wins, four draws and eleven defeats in their twenty seven division one games. 

  • Villa remain joint 8th.

  • Goalkeeper Fred Biddlestone, 25, and forward Bob Brocklebank, 21, made their Villa debuts after joining from Walsall and Finchley AFC earlier this month and in May 1929 respectively. 

  • Moving the other way was midfielder Norman Swales, 23, who made his eight and final appearance for Villa before moving on to Scarborough in May 1932.
