Frank Broome hits a brace to make it six in four games as Villa win for the third time in four games and eighth time in 1936 across 16 games under the management committee structure.
Villa had won five times in 23 games in the first four months of the season.
Overall Villa make it thirteen wins, seven draws and eighteen defeats in thirty eight games.
Despite the victory Villa again conceded and now have three clean sheets in their last 45 games.
Villa climb out of the bottom two for the first time since 7 December as the improved form under the management committee provides a foundation for avoiding relegation with four games of 1935-36 left to play.
