Meanwhile, 24 year old midfielder Tommy Mitchinson made his Villa debut after moving from Mansfield Town for a fee of ยฃ18,000 earlier this month.
Whilst, Dave Pountney made his final appearance for Villa aged 27 before moving on to Shrewsbury Town in February 1968. Pountney played for Villa between 1963-64 and 1967-68 making 130 appearances and scoring 7 goals.
