Player #522 for Aston Villa, Thomas William Mitchinson known as Tommy Mitchinson played as a midfielder for the club between 1967-68 and 1968-69 making 52 appearances and scoring 9 goals.
Tommy was born in Sunderland on 24 February 1943 and he made his debut appearance for Villa on Saturday, 2 September 1967 aged 24.
Villa had signed Tommy from Mansfield Town for ยฃ18,000 in August 1967.
All nine of Tommyโs goals had come in his debut season under Tommy Cummings and despite his scoring return he was gone before the end of the calendar year after Tommy Dochertyโs arrival.
Tommy made his final appearance for Villa on Saturday, 28 December 1968 aged 25 before moving on to Torquay United in May 1969 for a fee of ยฃ8,000 aged 26.
Tommy passed away on 20 April 2006 aged 63.
