Barry made 12 league appearances scoring 4 in his debut season but it was 1966-67 as Villa succumbed to relegation to the second division that he had his best season scoring 11 times in 18 league appearances.
Barry played his final game for Villa on Saturday, 30 September 1967 at the start of Villa’s Division Two campaign after which he dropped down the divisions in October 1967 to join Shrewsbury Town of the Third Division in a £10,000 deal.
Barry had played under Villa managers Dick Taylor, and Tommy Cummings.
Barry passed away in Sedgley, Dudley on 28 August 2013 aged 75
