"If we wasted time Illegally after taking the lead then it was up to the referee to do something about it.
"I would rather be an unpopular winner than a good loser.
“In any case, most sides do this instinctively in the position we were in towards the end of the game.
“Look at Leeds and their record of the last half dozen years.
"I don't give the boys orders to waste time.
“A professional often does these things naturally towards the end of a game when it pays his side.
“It may be an unfortunate trend but it has become part of modem football."
