RECORD signing Dalian Atkinson turned his long delayed home debut into a triumph for Aston Villa and more misery for struggling Luton Town.
After playing in only three away games since his ยฃ1.6 million summer transfer from Real Sociedad, Atkinson took only four minutes to lay on the opening goal for Kevin Richardson.
Cyrille Regis added a second but the best was still to come from Atkinson.
His tremendous pace took him past three defenders before he supplied a centre for Dwight Yorke to head the third.
Luton even missed a penalty when Philip Gray smashed his kick against the bar after a handling offence.
It became all too easy for Villa, and 10 minutes from time substitute Paul Mortimer scored the fourth.
