"Villa must have known it was not going to be their day - again - when Tony Daley's excellent shot struck the inside of the post and bounced back into play."
*Sunday World*
Sunday, 15 March 1992
IN-tune OPR extended their unbeaten run to five matches as Les Ferdinand grabbed a second-half winner to sink goal-shy Villa.
Ferdinand struck in the 75th minute from close range in a rare Rangers attack after Darren Peacock had headed Ray Wilkins' cross into his path.
But it was rough justice on Villa, who have now scored only one goal in 916 minutes of first division football.
They were frustrated by a combination of sparkling saves by Rangers' goalkeeper Jan Stejskal and more woeful finishing.
Villa must have known it was not going to be their day - again - when Tony Daley's excellent shot struck the inside of the post and bounced back into play.
