What they Said
"Early in the second half Hannah succeeded in putting on a fourth goal, but eventually Hodgetts relieved the pressure on the Aston Villa goal, and Graham scored for the visitors. However, another fine shot by Campbell took effect, and Sunderland were then left victorious by 5 goals to 1."
SUNDERLAND v. ASTON VILLA
Splendid weather favoured this match at Sunderland, and 6,000 people assembled to see the play. Owing to the recent frost, however, the ground was very slippery. Sunderland showed excellent form, and soon obtained the upper hand of their opponents. Campbell scored first, Hannah following with a second point obtained from a free kick, and Campbell added a third goal.
