Player #35 for Aston Villa, Albert Arthur Brown played as a forward for the club. Albert represented Villa between 1884-85 and 1893-94 including the first 5 football league seasons.

Albert was born in Aston less than a mile from Villa’s current ground on 7th January 1862 and made his debut as a 22 year old on 3rd November 1884.

Villa had signed Albert from Mitchell St. George’s and during his time with the club Albert both the FA Cup and the League.

Albert played all of the 10 games in Villa’s victorious 1886-87 FA Cup campaign, including the final at the Kennington Oval that hosted the 2-0 win over West Bromwich Albion.

Albert’s final game for Villa came on the 6th January 1894 at the age of 32 before retiring from football through injury.

Albert played his entire Villa career under the George Ramsay led Management Committee.
