Biography
Tom Clarkson
Player #55 for Aston Villa, Thomas Clarkson, known as Tom Clarkson, played as a midfielder for the club in a position then known as wing half. Tom represented Villa between 1889-00 and 1892-93.
Tom was born in Stourbridge in April 1865 and made his debut as a 24 year old on 7th September 1889.
Villa had signed Tom from Halesowen Town and he went on to represent the club 17 times over his three seasons at the club.
Tomโs final game for Villa came on 10th October 1892 aged 27 having played under the George Ramsay led Management Committee.
Tom subsequently moved to Oldbury Town.
Tom passed away in West Bromwich in July 1915 aged 50.
