Tom McKnight

Player #71 for Aston Villa, Thomas Victor McKnight, known as Tom McKnight and nicknamed Surefoot played as an inside forward for the club. Tom represented Villa twelve times during the 1890-91 season.

Tom was born in Lichfield, just fourteen miles from the current Villa ground, in April 1868 and made his debut as a 22 year old on 13th September 1890.

Villa had signed Tom from Burton Swifts.

Tom’s final game came on 21st March 1891 after which he was transferred to Leek Alexandra.

Tom played under the George Ramsay led Management Committee.

Tom passed away in Birmingham in 1930 aged 62.
