"How many right-footed volleys have I scored? One. Tonight! For me, and also for the team, the goal was super important. It's a way of thanking all the people that have supported me through my injury - the club, the staff, the team, my family. This is for them."

"Villa are a big club but this was a tough group. The first game didn't go our way so we knew how hard tonight was going to be. In the first half they gave us a lot of problems but we won, qualified and now we want to win the group.

"Our home form has been great. We have to stay consistent and keep the winning mentality. We won a lot of games here in 2023 and now we want to win a lot of games here in 2024.

"The important thing is we got the three points in the end. It was a big game, we were both on nine points. We didn't take our chances but we'll take the three points."

"It's football, we make mistakes. We'll get behind Kamara. It's football. We stuck together and managed to get the three points. We came out in the second half and kept the ball well and managed to get the second goal.

"It was a weird one in the first half. We didn't keep the ball as we wanted. They're a good side.

"We do a lot of work on the training pitch. The boys don't like it much. Credit to Austin [set piece coach], he's a great guy and that one was for him."

"We're very happy. We began the group with defeat in Warsaw and tonight we showed our development. And now we are through and while it's not 100% we're well positioned to take top spot.

"After his [Álex Moreno’s] long injury it was fantastic to see him come back like he did tonight. When he scored he was obviously very excited, very happy and we felt the same because we feel like a family here.

"He's very important. He was injured and coming back. Jacob Ramsey too. Alex Moreno is wishing to play. He scored one goal and now we can have more players coming.

"I'm very happy. Our reaction was fantastic. We are not 100% first in the group but I think normally we are going to win. We are settling with the players in this competition. At Villa Park with the supporters, we are playing very good.

“They [Legia] were very focussed, very motivated. It was very tight to qualify for the next round. They needed a draw or a win. For us, it was important to try to win. We were consistent in our game plan. The second half, our control was better than the first half. We controlled it better. They had one chance off the cross bar.

"In 90 minutes, we had to try control everything. Today we score one goal through it and it's adding more qualities we can show."

"Very good game. We played against a tough team. Legia are a strong team.

"We want to finish first in the group. Today it was really important to win.

"We have to continue like this. We have to keep going.

"We spoke before the game with the coach and team-mates and they said you have to start really quick. We wanted to score after 10 or 15 minutes but it was before. It was really good.

"I'm very happy for Alex [Moreno]. He had a big injury. He is a good person and I'm very happy for him.

“We have to play this game in December and go there to win."

"Really happy because we started this competition losing to Legia Warsaw there.

"We reacted very well and we thought about tonight to prepare for the match trying to show as well how we improve during that match playing tonight.

"We are progressing, we are feeling good, feeling good with our supporters in Villa Park. We wanted to finish first in the group, it's not complete at the moment, but we are close to it. We want to finish these matches in the group against Zrinjski.

"They are first in the group. They want to continue in this competition. We have to try to involve our supporters because it is a way to win trophies and play in Europe.

"Tonight I am very happy as well for some players like Jhon Duran, who took 90 minutes, Alex Moreno, who came back and is feeling good, Jacob Ramsey as well getting minutes. As a team we are building and learning things.”
