"We are so close But we just have to focus on Monday night. I think we owe the supporters a performance. We owe ourselves a performance after the effort throughout the season, the graft every single day coming in.
"It has been a long hard season but certainly one to be proud of. We don't want to stop short. We know what we have to do. It is in our hands. It is going to be a very, very tough game, we know that.
"We obviously have the crucial benefit of other results potentially going our way but we want to get the job done ourselves and get into the top four, which would be an unbelievable achievement.
"The fans have been there the past few weeks and it is up to us to deliver now. You can wave as many scarves as you want, shout our names as loud as you want but it is up to us to find that fire and get us over the line.
"We have underachieved. We know that. But we will learn from it and will be back better and stronger next year."
"There has been a determination for five or six weeks. That is the frustrating thing, we could have had it wrapped up [top four] before now. But the Premier League is extremely difficult. We have certainly had some setbacks along the way but this group will keep fighting.
"We fought on Thursday but it wasn't enough but on another night we could have turned it around. It wasn't to be. Unfortunately, we have to wish Olympiacos all the best."
John McGinn pre-match.
“He has had a lot of influence on me and he has brought back my confidence.
”I never once doubted myself coming here. If you watched me before, people know the quality I have and what I can do on the pitch.
“But it’s when players are not happy, you can’t get the best out of them. Unai has given me that confidence again. When Dean left, it was like, okay I came for this person and now they are gone.
“Then another coach came in and it was just like, the relationship wasn’t really there, for me. I wasn’t feeling confident and had no comfort. We wouldn’t have chats to let me feel like I was needed here.
“I also felt like I was just another player and I don’t like to feel like that because I know what I am capable of and what I can do when I’m on the pitch. I like to have a relationship with my coach. I think I am like that because of my dad - he is always there. He will make sure that he lets you know that I am good and we are very close and he has been there since I was seven.
“Once I feel that, I will give my everything for that person. I never felt that before Unai came in, at all. When Unai came in, he gave me that feeling of confidence and comfort, the trust, everything. That’s when it changed for me.
“At one point, I was not happy at all and I wanted to leave, but when Unai came in everything changed. He has given everything I need and he is the best manager I have worked with. And I think he will be the best manager that I will work with for a long time. I respect him so much that if I don’t start a game, it doesn’t matter.
“I have that much trust in him and I believe in everything he is doing for the team. He has helped me a lot to really get people to see again what I am able to do. He is very important for us. What he has created has been truly remarkable. He is a really good example of a manager to have and the players really like him.”
Leon Bailey on Unai Emery and the charlatan that preceded him.
"It's a brilliant effort towards the end. We got a bit of luck. It's been a tough few weeks with lads coming back and playing through the pain barrier. This place got us going.
"Big Jhon [Duran] is a bit nuts at times. He's a nightmare to play against.
"There's some of us who have never been close to the Champions League in our life. The manager has a no-excuse mentality. People have written us off and we've floated under the radar.
"We'll have our Man City tops on tomorrow.
"It was a crazy game to be honest. A point makes it more difficult for Tottenham. We obviously wanted the three.
"There have been times this season we have gone ahead, came back, ended up losing it. It was a bit of game management. I know it wasn't the three but it is a huge one moving forwards.
"This place can do that to teams. Like the Kop at Anfield. This crowd really believes in this team."
John McGinn post match.
“For the character we showed today we should have five points but we got only one.”
The ever dignified Jurgen Klopp sees a different game to everybody else.
"We are very proud of the season. It is not enough at the moment to get fourth. We are going to prepare for the match on Sunday against Crystal Palace. Even after we scored the two goals we had chances. We are celebrating the season here with our supporters in Villa Park.
"We are only thinking of us. We will prepare for our match on Sunday, everything is in our hands.
"Jhon Duran is a special player. We have to try and help him. He is a good guy and he needs a team behind him. He is getting our demands better. He was very clinical and today was important for him.
"Today we are celebrating with our supporters, we have to push it and keep working and be consistent. We were consistent all the season. The team was being mature and always consistent in our mind. Inch by inch we did it."
Unai Emery, post match.
"We created chances but we didn't score. We got the draw and fought right until the end and that's the most important thing. Unfortunately we couldn't score more, we felt like we deserved more in the first half. It's unlucky but we'll take the draw.
"We're in that fourth position and we want to keep it. We just want to thank the fans, you can feel the atmosphere at the club. The fans have been amazing all season and it's no surprise we have an amazing home record this season."
Youri Tielemans, post match.
"We've enjoyed the season here, we've had a lot of emotions.
"This is for you, you were always supporting us, you were always supporting us.
"Today we didn't finish. The last match is at Crystal Palace on Sunday... to get to the end, to play Champions League.
"This is very important. For us, the club, the players, for me."
Unai Emery.
