A SUPERB second-half strike from Welsh international Dean Saunders gave Villa their first league win at Norwich in 13 years and their first victory in six Premiership games.
Villa were lucky not to be reduced to 10 men as early as the second minute when Neil Cox went in elbow first as Norwich goalkeeper Bryan'Gunn caught a lofted cross from Steve Staunton.
Gunn needed lengthy treatment to a facial injury, but the unsighted referee, David Elleray, let Cox off with nothing more than a stem lecture. In the 26th minute.
Chris SUTTON showed the predatorโs touch, seizing on Shaun Tealeโs poorly-struck back-pass before rounding Mark Bosnich and firing home from an acute angle.
Villa struck in the 55th minute following a poor back-pass from Norwich sweeper lan Culverhouse.
He put the ball straight into the path of Ray HOUGHTON, who rounded Gunn comfortably before slotting home.
Three minutes later SAUNDERS scored the crucial goal a fierce dipping effort from 20 yards which left Gunn clutching thin air.
