MATTHEW Le Tissier inspired Southampton to their first away win in eight months with two opportunist second-half goals.
An upset was always on the cards and following a low-key first half the Saints rocked Villa by taking the lead five minutes into the second period.
Simon Charlton's right-wing corner was nudged on by lan Dowie and a Villa clearance hit a defender and fell to Le TISSIER to turn and hook the ball into the net.
Even this goal failed to generate a Villa comeback and Saints were quick to take advantage of the situation with Le TISSIER obtaining his second goal in the 62nd minute.
Again it came from a dead ball situation with the unmarked striker heading Charltonโs free-kick goalwards. Mark Bosnich could only parry the ball and Le Tissier followed up to tap in.
