BIG spending Trevor Francis' ยฃ8 million strike force drew another blank at Hillsborough last night.
The Sheffield Wednesday boss is happy that he's got a side to take on champions Manchester United after finally landing ยฃ2.7m QPR winger Andy Sinton.
But the formation up front still isn't firing on all cylinders after a 2-0 defeat at Liverpool and goalless stalemate with Villa.
David Hirst looked out of sorts and was substituted by Mark Bright five minutes from time, while Paul Warhurst was desperately out of luck again.
The defender-turned striker twice carved out openings in the first half only to be foiled by wayward finishing then a last ditch goal-line clearance.
And when he turned provider for his partner in the 57th minute, Hirst sliced the best chance of the night wide.
It could have been worse for Wednesday - they lost left-back Phil King with a cut above the eye and nearly gave the game away when Dalian Atkinson set up Dean Saunders.
