Villa stop a run of four consecutive defeats with a home draw against promotion chasers Blackburn but remain bottom of the table, four points behind Preston and five points off safety with six games left to play.

Vic Crowe's Villa stop their worst run of the season - four successive League defeats - as they draw with Blackburn following an early George Curtis goal to record one win, three draws and six defeats in his ten games in charge. As a result Villa make it five wins, twelve draws and nineteen defeats in thirty six division two matches this season. 

Meanwhile, Barrie Hole made his final Villa appearance aged 27 before moving on to Swansea Town in July 1970. Hole played for Villa between 1968-69 and 1969-70 making 53 appearances and scoring 9 goals.
