Arthur Cunliffe scores on debut as Villa end the season with successive wins to finish runners up for the second time in three seasons.
Villa make it twenty three wins, eight draws and eleven defeats in their forty two division one games.
Villa keep their fifth clean sheet in seven games and their fifthteenth in 42 League games.
Villa however had started the season in some of their best ever form and looked practicably invincible until the New Year when inconsistency began to enter.
But for that Villa, who finished four points adrift of the eventual champions, would have been celebrating their seventh title in the most spectacular fashion.
Winger Arthur Cunliffe and forward Ronald Dix, aged 24 and 20, made their Villa debuts after both moved from Blackburn Rovers earlier this month.
