Pongo Waring scores for the second time in as many games but Villa lose for the first time in six as they are beaten at Goodison by League leaders Everton.
But it's a highly controversial victory as Everton's 'hero' Dixie Dean behaves abominably to earn his side the win.
In a second half attack Dean, offside, stopped his run as did all the Villa players.
Close in on goal, and despite play being halted, and with every player on the field stationary and all having accepted that the passage of play had ended, Dean had other ideas.
Shortly after the players began to regroup Dean passed the ball into the net and past the unaware Olney, who like every other player expected the game to restart with a free kick following the offside call.
To the shock of those present referee Crew awarded the goal before refusing to listen to the lengthy and justified protests.
Villa make it sixteen wins, eight draws and fifteen defeats in their thirty nine division one games.

🆘 | With play stopped due to offside, Dean, stationary ahead of the expected free kick, decides to put the ball into the net past Olney who like the other 21 players on the field had accepted the passage of play had ended. Referee Crew however granted Dean the goal much to the anger of the onlooking Villa players and staff.
