Meanwhile, midfielder Albert Wilkes made his final appearance for Villa aged 31 before moving on to Fulham in June 1907.
Albert had played for Villa 158 times, scoring seven goals over his nine seasons with the club. During his time with the Villa, Albert won the League title in 1898-99 & 1899-00, the FA Cup in 1904-05 and the Charity Shield in 1900-01.
