George Harris

George played for Villa between 1901-02 and 1907-08 making 21 appearances.

George was born in Halesowen, less than 10 miles from Villa Park, on 1st January 1878 and made his first appearance for the club as a 23 year old on 5th October 1901.

Villa had signed George from Halesowen Town.

Despite his modest contribution, Harris’ most appearances in a season was 8 in 1905-06, Villa sold George to West Bromwich Albion for a fee of £400 in January 1909.

George played under the George Ramsay led Management Committee.

George passed away in a shipyard accident on 10th June 1923 aged just 45.
