Villa extend their unbeaten run to seven, winning four as Boro are beaten on their home patch o make it eight wins, nine draws and three defeats in their opening twenty division one games. Meanwhile, centre forward Dickson made his final appearance before moving on to Middlesbrough later this month despite a goal scoring record of 38 goals in just 83 appearances for the club. 28 of those goals however had come in 42 games in 1921-22 after which Dickson had scored 8 in 33 before his departure.
