Villa win for the first time in six games
Villa score more goals in a single match than they had achieved in theit previous seven
Villa make it three wins, five draws and two defeats in their opening ten division one games.
In a bizarre incident late in the first half Preston score but referee Hickling pulls play back for a foul and awards a penalty to Preston which Jackson saves.
Having already awarded Villa a first half penalty, Hickling did the same in the second 45' to the confusion of those watching.
Villa climb to joint second alongside Bolton, two points off leaders Cardiff.
