Three days after their dismantling of promotion rivals Manchester United Villa are beaten at Turf Moor as they lose for the first time in four League games.
The victory is more than a little flattering but still it is yet another game in hand wasted by Villa and though they remain top of the table another opportunity to steal a march is thrown away.
So tight is the table that previously mid table Burnley's win moves them to sixth in the table.
Up next is second placed, one point behind Sheffield United and a visit to the thuggish football city.
