Tommy made 9 appearances, and scored his only goal for the club, in his debut season as Villa won the Second Division championship and promotion back to Division One after a season away.
Tommy would go on to make only 2 appearances for Villa in the 1938-39 top flight season, playing his final game on 11 April 1939 aged 28 before moving on to Burnley
