Despite Villa's strong away point at third placed Arsenal they sit joint 8th in the table alongside three other clubs, all of whom have played two games more than Villa.
Villa have now had two months in which to play their games in hand however the League has given no sign of when these fixtures will be played leading Villa to be in a false position against their first division rivals.
Victory in those two fixtures would put Villa in outright second place, where they had finished in 1930-31.
Given Villa are playing once a week on a Saturday the concern is that Villa will be forced to play their games in hand, to their disadvantage, over an already congested holiday period across Christmas and/or Easter.
