George H Stephenson
Player #344 for Aston Villa, George Henry Stephenson, played as a winger for the club in the outside left position.
George played for Villa in 1931-32 making 4 appearances and scoring once.
George was born in Stillington, Durham on 29 September 1908 and made his debut appearance for Villa on the 9 January 1932 aged 23.
Villa had signed Billy from Durham City in April 1931 following a trial in November 1930.
Georgeโs Villa career was however over in 21 days after 2 appearances in both the League and FA Cup including a goal in his first league outing the 6-1 defeat of Liverpool.
Georgeโs final game came on 30 January 1932 before moving to Luton Town in July 1934 where he enjoyed a stellar career in the lower leagues.
George had played under the Billy Smith led Management Committee.
George passed away in 1964 aged 65.
